Process signals: is this site actually getting worse?
What improving, deteriorating, level change, unusual, variable and stable mean, and why they are judged against the site's own history rather than the target.
The performance trend has two modes. Standard is the plain chart. Process signals answers a harder question: is this site actually changing, or is this just a normal bad day?
What the marks mean
| ▲ Improving | A sustained rise over several audited days — not one good day. |

| ▼ Deteriorating | A sustained fall. This is the one to act on. |
| ◆ Level change | The site has settled at a new level. Something changed — a person, a supplier, a process — and it stuck. |
| ⚠ Unusual | One day far outside what this site normally does. Worth asking about; not yet a trend. |
| ≈ Variable | No direction, but nowhere near steady. Perfect four days in five and terrible on the fifth. That is a real problem and it is invisible in an average. |
| ● Stable | Steady. Note that stable does not mean good. |
The thing worth understanding
Signals are judged against each site's own recent days, not against your target. A site sitting steadily at 80% against a 90% target is stable and underperforming — which is a different problem from a site that is falling, and needs a different conversation. The target is still drawn on the chart; it just does not decide the signal.
Getting to the detail
- Switch to Process signals.
- Click any day on the chart to open the panel for that day and that site.
- The panel lists what was not done that day, by your own check names, heaviest first, with the critical / major / minor counts.
- From there, open the full audit for that day.
The same verdict appears on each site's health card, so the card and the chart can never tell you different things about the same site.
When it says it does not know
With only a few audited days it says so rather than guessing. A judgement from three days is not a judgement.
